Job Description

A Data Protection Specialist is responsible for ensuring the organisation's compliance with global data protection laws and regulations.

This role plays a key part in safeguarding personal data and maintaining the trust of our clients and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support the handling of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data subject rights inquiries.
  • Conduct and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
  • Maintain accurate records of processing activities through data inventories and mapping of data flows.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training and awareness programmes to strengthen data protection culture.
  • Support the management of data breaches and security incidents.
  • Partner with IT, HR, Compliance, and other teams to embed data protection into operational practices and new projects.

The successful candidate will contribute to data governance and provide operational support to ensure the organisation remains compliant with all relevant data protection laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a data protection, privacy, compliance, or governance role.
  • Strong understanding of global data protection regulations including GDPR.
  • Familiarity with technology and IT security principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • High attention to detail with ability to deliver pragmatic, actionable advice.
