Job Title: Dedicated Care Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Dedicated Care Professional. This role involves providing support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position, requiring an average of 40 hours per week, including day and waking night shifts.
  • You will be working in a new centre located in Roscommon, which is set to open in the near future.
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate decision-making, independence, and personal development for service users.
  • Provide support with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health, and appearance.
  • Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
  • Undertake key worker responsibilities to help service owners achieve their goals.
  • Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service users, or visitors.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the goals of service users.
Requirements:
  • A minimum Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent is required.
  • Registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board by CORU is mandatory.
  • You must hold a full Irish driving license.
  • Prior experience in social care or healthcare is essential.
  • You should have a working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Garda Vetting/Police Clearance is required.
