Supporting Women in Recovery
At Tla'amin Nation, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to recover from addiction and rebuild their lives. Our 6 bed recovery model, Suaimhneas, provides a safe and supportive environment for women to do just that. As a Recreation Worker, you will play a key role in helping our service users achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing.

Your Role
In this role, you will work closely with our service users to understand their needs and develop personalized support plans. You will provide key working and advocacy services, referring service users to external agencies and health boards as needed. Your role will also involve supervising volunteers and supporting your team members to ensure all decision-making is consistent. Additionally, you will participate in supervision and annual appraisals, identifying your own professional development within your role.

Key Responsibilities
* Assess the needs of service users and develop personalized support plans
* Provide key working and advocacy services, referring service users to external agencies and health boards as needed
* Supervise volunteers and support team members to ensure consistency in decision-making
* Participate in supervision and annual appraisals, identifying professional development needs

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need 2 years paid experience working in a drug-free/recovery model setting, preferably in a residential setting. You must have experience of care planning and key working, and be able to evidence this. A solid understanding of the recovery models such as 12 steps is also essential. Recovery Coaching qualification and experience would be beneficial but not essential. You will also need good working knowledge of risk assessment processes and systems, an understanding of harm reduction and low threshold working, and a knowledge of the statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless people.
