Senior Automation Systems Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining automation systems in the manufacturing process. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of robotic and AGV applications, as well as continually enriching operator interfaces.
To achieve this goal, the successful candidate will eliminate hazardous processes in manufacturing and drive continuous safety improvement. They will also demonstrate a passion for new technologies and automation process control.
Requirements- A degree in Controls, Electrical, Electronic, or Manufacturing Engineering is required, as well as over 5 years' experience in an automated environment with a proven track record of success.
- The ideal candidate will have strong skills in PLC programming using Rockwell and Siemens PLC's, including safety PLC versions, as well as experience with TIA portal software and RS Logix or Studio 5000.
- Familiarity with FANUC and ABB robot integration is also required, as well as knowledge of EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet, and ASi communication networks.
- Design of control systems, including safety-related systems, is essential, along with full documentation using Eplan.
- The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with EN standards and regulations, as well as business case development and selling to stakeholders.
- The Automation Specialist will be part of the project team building turnkey automated cells, utilizing the onsite Automation center of excellence to prove out concepts for deployment.
- They will provide PLC support to run and maintain the automated cells in production, as well as support a culture of continuous improvement and A3 problem solving.
- The successful candidate will ensure compliance with SOP's and technical documentation, as well as engage with EH&S Risk Assessments, PFMEA, and comply with TT BOS.
- They will also support systems to ensure site backups, images, disaster recovery, procedures, cyber security, data integrity, etc.
- Installing and placing new or upgraded equipment into operations is also a key responsibility, as well as developing solutions for automation problems and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- The Automation Specialist will generate and execute documents such as User Requirements Specification's, Design Specifications, FAT, SAT, Operating Manuals.
- They will also be responsible for implementing strategic change, identifying and eliminating waste, clearly communicating project team expectations, and collaborating with multiple internal and external partners.
- A proven track record in driving continuous improvement and a passion for new technologies/automation/process control are essential.
