Speech and Language Therapist Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Speech and Language Therapist, working with children and young people with complex disabilities. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services in line with the Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech and language needs in children and young people aged 0–18 years with complex disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualised Family-Centred Service Plans (FCSP) in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Support families and caregivers to implement therapy strategies in daily life through coaching and collaborative goal-setting.
- Deliver services across various settings, including clinic, home, school, and community environments as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with professional standards.
- Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU.
- Registration with CORU– Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board.
- Desirable: experience of working with children with complex disabilities and interdisciplinary team working.
