As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing new features for our SiriusXM application running on Android, Linux, and Windows platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge software architectures and develop sophisticated software applications.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with experience in embedded SW development, software design, and testing. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software applications, as well as performing analysis of internal and third-party product requirements. Your expertise in software framework architectures and designs will enable you to meet internal and external customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, document, and implement application software to bring SAT and IP streaming audio, data, and advanced user interfaces to our customers.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle from initial feature definition through software release and in-field customer support.
  • Perform analysis of internal and third-party product requirements and understand software framework architectures and designs to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Participate in software design and review sessions with the software team and other stakeholders.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of participating in an embedded SW development team, designing, implementing, and testing sophisticated software architectures. A bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent experience is required. A master's degree in software engineering is desired.

At least three years of experience in software, framework, and application development for one or more of the following: embedded consumer, streaming devices, medical devices, industrial automation, client and server, automotive products, web, mobile services (Android, iOS).

Experience in one or more of the following operating systems: SELinux/Linux, QNX, Android, iOS, Unix-like, Windows, or embedded RTOS.

Experience in a variety of programming languages/frameworks across the stack, including C/C++, Rust, Java, React Native, JavaScript, JSON, QT/QML, Flutter, TypeScript, Python.

Experience in participating in formal documentation and source code reviews, providing relevant and insightful feedback to team members.

Familiarity with advanced software development environments (IDE, compilers, operating systems, source management tools, CI/CD, and test tools).

Familiarity with configuration management and defect tracking tools (GitHub, Jira).

Familiarity with unit testing best practices.

Knowledge in object-oriented methodologies and system software design concepts.

Good public speaking and presentation skills.

Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
