Job Title: Behaviour Support Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and developing support programmes for individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours.

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will work closely with families, staff teams, and other stakeholders to provide person-centred support. You will develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans, including proactive strategies, adaptations, and preventative measures.

You will also be responsible for ongoing monitoring using various tools to ensure the effectiveness of interventions and plans. Additionally, you will provide training in areas required by individual support plans and offer on-the-ground support to frontline managers, staff teams, and families.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Psychology is essential for this role.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a PBS Specialist role within a disability organisation providing PBS support services to children/adults is required.
  • Extensive clinical experience working autonomously in carrying out Comprehensive Behavioural Assessments and developing Multi-element Behaviour Support Plans is necessary.
  • Experience designing and delivering training packages to staff and families (internal & external) is also required.
  • Experience working as part of an inter-disciplinary team and autonomously is essential.

This is a full-time position with 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will have a high level of organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain a professional manner when providing support to families and staff teams.
