Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled OT professional with a strong interest in geriatric care and dementia treatment. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to enhancing the quality of life and independence of our clients through comprehensive assessment and intervention.

The role involves conducting thorough assessments focusing on functional ability, cognitive function, and daily living skills. You will develop tailored strategies to promote autonomy and engagement in meaningful activities, provide expert seating and positioning assessments for individuals with complex needs, and lead individual and group programs within our inpatient setting.

You will work closely with a senior OT in our Community Later Life Psychiatry Team, engage with other Mental Health OTs, and be supported by a dedicated Mental Health Occupational Therapy Manager.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments focusing on function, cognition, and daily living skills
  • Develop compensatory strategies to support autonomy and engagement in meaningful activities
  • Provide specialist seating and positioning assessments for clients with complex physical and cognitive needs
  • Facilitate individual and group programs within the inpatient setting
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
  • CORU Registration (essential)
  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc or equivalent)
  • Strong clinical interest in older adult mental health and dementia care
