About this role we are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead our day-to-day lab operations and ensure safe, accurate and compliant testing practices. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment with excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the laboratory team ensuring high quality results in a fast-paced production environment.
- Supervise and support analysts, promoting a culture of ownership, safety and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report lab performance and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Oversee the calibration, validation and maintenance of lab equipment and instruments.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Health Safety and Environmental (QHSE) policies and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production Engineering Research and Development and Customer Care.
- Coordinate training and onboarding of new team members in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Prepare for and participate in customer certification and regulatory audits.
- Drive resolution of non-conformances and audit findings, including Corrective Action Preventative Actions follow-up.
- Degree in Analytical Science Food Science Chemistry Microbiology or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of industry experience preferably in dairy or food manufacturing.
- Proven leadership and team coordination experience in a laboratory or technical environment.
- Solid understanding of food safety Quality Management Systems Good Manufacturing Practice and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point principles.
- Familiarity with laboratory systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning platforms.
- Strong communication problem-solving and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
