Retail Assistant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our retail team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring the smooth operation of our stores.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the store manager in achieving sales and profit targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including stock control and cash handling procedures.
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising plans, promoting products and services to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Maintain store profitability by managing controllable costs, such as labor, inventory, and overheads.
  • Recruit, select, and train new staff members, working closely with the HR department to ensure effective onboarding and development.
  • Organize and execute special promotions, displays, and events, driving foot traffic and sales.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment with fresh foods.
  • Familiarity with retail IT systems, including stock and sales analysis software.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
