About the Role

The Health Care Assistant plays a vital part in our multidisciplinary team, providing exceptional care to residents.

This rewarding role involves supporting and directing personal care to maximise independence and wellbeing, catering to physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with hygiene and dress care functions for residents.

  • Safely transfer and handle residents within the nursing home environment.

  • Deliver meals and provide feeding assistance as needed.

  • Ensure residents' rooms are kept tidy by returning used trays and dishes to the kitchen.

  • Make beds and change linens regularly.

  • Provide incontinence and toilet care, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags.

  • Collaborate with trained nurses to offer psychological and social support when required.

  • Maintain vigilant attention to residents' dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts at all times.

  • Adhere to strict hygiene, health, and safety regulations.

Desirable Qualifications:

Elder care experience and possession of QQI Level 5 - Healthcare Support qualification.
