Chief Medical Officer Position

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to oversee the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating the framework to monitor the delivery of patient care within their department. They will also proactively manage the fitness for work of employees, especially those in safety-critical positions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create the framework to monitor patient care within their department
  • Manage the fitness for work of employees, focusing on safety-critical positions
  • Administer welfare services to employees, including well-being and counseling support
  • Determine medical standards for employee fitness to work, with a focus on safety-critical roles
  • Oversee primary healthcare services for employees and their families
  • Interpret and report drug and alcohol testing results as a Medical Review Officer
  • Support safety management systems
  • Advise on compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Provide health promotion services to all employees through the Health Promotion Unit
  • Liaise with national and international organizations to ensure occupational health standards align with best practices
  • Offer specialist advice on employee medical retirement and provide professional guidance in statutory contexts
  • Promote dissemination of medical standards for safety-critical work among the medical community
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and welfare regulations across the organization
  • Ensure business operations adhere to national and international health and safety standards
  • Manage occupational health services for all departments
