Senior IT Project Manager Job Description

The role of Senior IT Project Manager involves overseeing the delivery of projects within a defined scope, timeline, and budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of the Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements definition, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced project manager to take on a challenging role in managing complex IT infrastructure implementation and modernization projects. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver projects according to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Plan and assign work to project team members and oversee progress
  • Manage project budgets and track expenses
  • Develop and implement project plans and risk management strategies
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders, including internal customers, business relationship managers, architects, suppliers, operations, and infrastructure teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.

Requirements:
  • PMP, PRINCE 2, APM, SAFE or similar qualification in project management/software delivery
  • 10+ years of relevant IT project management experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure implementation and modernization, especially networking and cloud modernization
  • Able to manage large rollouts in multiple sites on a global scale
  • Able to manage IT infrastructure-related procurement and invoicing, including multiple POs sourced at a national level, as well as accruals
  • Comfortable with managing and onboarding multiple vendors
  • Able to establish and manage an ongoing relationship with Supply Chain Management

You will also need to have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure implementation and modernization, as well as experience in managing large-scale projects.
