The role of a Kitchen Porter is to play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards within a busy kitchen environment. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchen procedures are carried out to the correct standard.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out kitchen standard operating procedures to the correct standard;
  • To maintain the highest quality of cleanliness in the kitchen and back of house areas;
  • To remove all refuse from the kitchen and dispose of it according to agreed procedures;
  • To store all crockery, glassware and cutlery in accordance with departmental standards;
  • To keep the pot wash area clean and organized, ensuring that all pots, pans, etc. are stored in accordance with departmental standards;
  • To complete all duties prior to going off duty;
  • To follow HACCP standards as trained;

In order to excel in this role, you will require previous experience in a busy hotel kitchen, basic English skills, a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and flexibility to work varying shifts. You must also be a team player who can work effectively with colleagues to achieve goals.
