Occupational Therapist - Adult Mental Health

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Adult Mental Health Team in Longford. The successful candidate will work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver occupational therapy services to adults with mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a complex caseload of adults with varying mental health presentations, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
  2. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional needs and inform care planning.
  3. Design and deliver individual and group-based interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement.
  4. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop recovery-focused care plans tailored to each service user.
  5. Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care, community supports, and family/carers.
  6. Supervise and support the professional development of junior Occupational Therapists or students as required.
Essential Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU)
  • CORU Registration (essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health.
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy in the Community.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing a diverse caseload
  • Full driver's licence and access to own transport (essential)
