Job Role Summary:

The role of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician is to ensure optimal machine performance, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work efficiently under pressure, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support in the production setting.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective repairs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation and records.
  • Support production teams by delivering high-quality maintenance services.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is conducted safely, following site procedures and industry regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency maintenance support.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Hold a Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Qualification or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Be proficient in mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Experience working with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Flexible approach to tasks, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

This role requires a proactive and adaptable professional with a strong mechanical background, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment.
