Senior Manager, Group Technical Reporting

This is a senior leadership position within the technical reporting team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide technical & analytical leadership to the USGAAP quarterly close process for the Group and its legal entities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage daily reporting requirements of Reinsurance and Retrocession Accounting Teams.
  • Spearhead process improvements by implementing best practices and cutting-edge automation technologies.
  • Document processes and design controls to ensure strong governance and control environment.
  • Analyze and control technical financial results of the Group and support downstream functions with their analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations and underwriting functions in relation to new and existing contracts.
  • Evaluate accounting for new contracts and oversee complex accounting issues.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Financial Reporting or similar role within (re)insurance industry or Big 4 with focus on reinsurance.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance/retrocession contractual wordings and technical reinsurance/retrocession accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly MS Excel.
  • Experience with data management and business intelligence tools is a plus.
Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant with at least 10 years PQE.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to coordinate projects with business-as-usual in a time sensitive environment.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of transformation within finance and passion for driving change.
  • Attention to detail with analytical mindset.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships across various jurisdictions.
  • Motivated, reliable, flexible team player who enjoys solving problems with positive attitude.
