  • Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating certain aspects of haemodialysis service, including monthly bloods analysis and prescription specific to Anaemia and Renal Mineral Bone Disease management. They will also compile and report monthly and annual audit data for the AIS.

  • The post holder will take responsibility for planning implementation and evaluation of outcomes through audit, nurse prescribing as per Collaborative Practice Agreement, and addressing nursing issues and interventions in relation to the post specified.

  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and acting on Monthly bloods, Transplant evaluation and follow up, managing a designated patient workload autonomously.

  • Clinical Focus: Ensure high standards are maintained using evidence-based practice, care planning approach.

  • Key responsibilities include commencing transplant work-up and evaluations, liaising with the medical team regarding having suitable patients placed on the transplant pool in a timely manner, providing a high level of professional and clinical leadership in co-operation with other Renal Unit Staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A qualification to degree level in Nursing and registered with NMBI, Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing, strong planning organisation and work prioritisation skills, excellent relationship and interpersonal skills, strong administrative and IT skills.
