Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Galway.

The successful candidate will work in a Renal Clinic, managing and coordinating various aspects of haemodialysis service. This includes monthly blood tests, analysis, and prescription specific to Anaemia and Renal Mineral Bone Disease management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care using evidence-based practice and care planning approaches.
  • Conduct assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate monthly blood tests, transplant work up, Hepatitis B vaccinations, and monitoring for haemodialysis patients.
  • Provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis, selecting and developing appropriate literature and support networks.
  • Be involved in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population.
  • Manage defined areas and their planned care in association with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Attend renal transplant multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and others.
  • Develop and maintain clinical and practical skills in haemodialysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree-level qualification in Nursing and registration with NMBI.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and work prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
