The Role

We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician to join our team located in Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a support service to the site as part of the maintenance team, ensuring maintenance and repairs are carried out in compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns across the site where an Engineering Technician is required
  • Knowledge of various systems including steam boilers, heating hot water boilers, chilled water, purified water, pre-treatment systems, reverse osmosis, quality critical HVAC systems, compressed air, chillers, cooling towers, sanitary hot water, vacuum pumps, CRAC units, refrigeration systems, sprinkler systems, waste systems
  • Repair equipment, machinery, and plant etc. as quickly and safely as possible while adhering to all safety systems
  • Carry out work orders generated through the CMMS system (non-urgent work jobs required by others on site) to meet service level agreements
  • Liaise with Client to determine mechanical requirements and repair or offer alternative solutions
  • Assist with ordering supplies as needed for work and projects
  • Carry out routine planned, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks, understanding of vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thermal imaging
  • Eliminate or reduce risks by complying with site safety rules and instructions and reporting hazards to management for prompt action

Requirements

  • Formal apprenticeship desirable
  • Views problems as a challenge to generate new ideas
  • Proactively develops customer relationships by making efforts to listen to and understand the customer (internal and external)
  • Demonstrates a diplomatic personal style in addressing customer needs
