Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to assume the role of Chief Medical Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to ensure high-quality patient care.

  • The Chief Medical Officer will oversee the creation of frameworks to monitor and improve patient care.
  • Proactive management of employee fitness for work, particularly in safety-critical positions.
  • Administer provision of welfare, well-being, and counselling services to employees.
  • Establish medical standards for fitness to work across all company positions, with a focus on safety-critical roles.
  • Manage Primary General Practitioner services for employees and their families.
  • Interpret and report results from Drug and Alcohol Testing Programmes as a Medical Review Officer.
  • Provide support to the organization's safety management systems.
  • Advise management on compliance with statutory legislation regarding employee health and safety.
  • Administer Health Promotion services for all employees through the Health Promotion Unit within the Occupational Health Unit.
  • Liaise with national and international organizations to maintain occupational health unit standards in line with best practices.
  • Offer specialist advice on employee ill-health retirement.
  • Provide expert advice in statutory arenas as requested.
  • Promote and support dissemination of medical standards for safety-critical work related to public transport among the medical community.
  • E nsure compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation by all employees in accordance with Company Safety operating standards and other external legislative requirements.
  • Understand the business and ensure that all Health, Safety, and Welfare practices and procedures comply with best national and international standards.
  • Administration of Occupational Health services for all departments.

  • Able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
