R&D Mechanical Engineer II: Product Development Expert
At the forefront of medical device innovation, we are seeking a skilled R&D Mechanical Engineer II to spearhead product development through concept generation, design, prototyping, testing, and lifecycle support. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, external partners, and physicians to deliver high-quality medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and evaluate device concepts to meet performance requirements, leveraging expertise in mechanical engineering principles and simulation tools.
- Build and test prototypes, analyzing data to resolve technical challenges and drive innovation.
- Create detailed component and assembly drawings/specifications using Autodesk Fusion, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Select materials, assembly methods, and define process parameters, collaborating with cross-functional teams for optimal solutions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers for system integration, fostering a culture of cooperation and innovation.
- Partner with vendors and external resources to achieve project objectives, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
- Prepare procedures, protocols, reports, and technical documentation, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with quality management system requirements.
- Honours degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent), demonstrating academic excellence and theoretical knowledge.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in medical device design and development, including SolidWorks, prototyping, and testing, showcasing practical expertise and industry understanding.
