Conference & Banqueting Manager Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all conference, meeting and events outlets, as well as substantial events and wedding business. This role requires a high level of organisational skills to maximise employee productivity and satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Conference & Banqueting Events staff to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Maintain exceptional service standards across departments
  • Ensure accurate charges for meetings, conferences and dinners prior to guest departure
  • Work closely with sales and other food and beverage outlets to meet specifications of weddings, conferences and event details
  • Supervise set-up staff and inspect function rooms prior to events
  • Meet required needs of banquet orders by assuring proper inventory of all banquet equipment and supplies
  • Achieve profit goals by ensuring negotiated conference and banqueting rates are in line with hotel objectives
  • Follow up with guests to determine satisfaction and establish strategies to improve the quality of the guest experience
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct among employees in the department
  • Implement strategies to improve guest service, food production techniques and efficiency

Requirements:

  • 3 years experience in a similar position in a busy 4* Hotel with excellent reputation
  • Experience catering for events to 300+ guests on a regular basis
  • Fluent English language skills
  • IT proficiency
  • CURRENT legal status to live and work in Ireland
  • Experience working early and late Duty Manager shifts
  • Professional style, outgoing personality and friendly demeanour
