Logistics Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Supervisor to oversee the smooth operation of materials to and from our site. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily operations, supervising logistics operatives, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a logistics role on large scale construction projects, strong organisational skills, and good understanding of site Health & Safety regulations. They should also be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the site compound and storage areas
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for the timely and safe delivery of materials to and from site
  • Monitor and guide traffic movements on site to prevent congestion and safety risks
  • Enforce site access protocols and ensure all loading/unloading activities are carried out within designated areas
  • Support the Logistics Manager in delivery scheduling and maintaining delivery logs and material records
  • Attend logistics meetings and relay key information to operatives and subcontractors
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • Experience in a logistics role on large scale construction projects
  • Skill Set:
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deliveries and subcontractors daily
  • Good understanding of a large scale construction site with a solid understanding of site Health & Safety regulations
  • Personal Qualities:
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Additional qualifications in AP Crane and Temp Works are advantageous
