Maintenance Operator Role
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Operator is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This hands-on professional will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, or basic plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Use hand tools, power tools, or specialized equipment to repair or replace defective parts, ensuring all equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating condition.
- Monitor and record maintenance activities in logs or computerized systems to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production or facility teams to minimize downtime and optimize workflow.
- Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including workshops and storage facilities, to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Report any major issues or risks to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly to facilitate timely resolution.
- Participate in ongoing training or certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in maintenance departments, preferably in a similar industry.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, or on call if needed, depending on business requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and operate in confined spaces, if necessary.
- Prolonged standing, bending, or walking during shifts, depending on the specific job requirements.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, following safety guidelines and protocols.
Preferred Skills:
- Equipment operation certification, such as OSHA or EPA training.
- Safe Pass or equivalent safety certification.
- PAT Testing or other relevant certifications.
