Maintenance Operator Role

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Operator is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This hands-on professional will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, or basic plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, or specialized equipment to repair or replace defective parts, ensuring all equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Monitor and record maintenance activities in logs or computerized systems to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production or facility teams to minimize downtime and optimize workflow.
  • Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including workshops and storage facilities, to promote efficiency and productivity.
  • Report any major issues or risks to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Participate in ongoing training or certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience in maintenance departments, preferably in a similar industry.
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, shifts, or on call if needed, depending on business requirements.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to climb ladders and operate in confined spaces, if necessary.
      • Prolonged standing, bending, or walking during shifts, depending on the specific job requirements.
      • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, following safety guidelines and protocols.

        Preferred Skills:

        • Equipment operation certification, such as OSHA or EPA training.
        • Safe Pass or equivalent safety certification.
        • PAT Testing or other relevant certifications.
