Job Title: Assistant Head Chef

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented chef to join a dynamic kitchen team in a reputable venue known for its modern Irish cuisine, seasonal menus, and exceptional guest experience.

As Assistant Head Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high-quality dishes are prepared and presented.

You will be involved in menu development, stock management, and leading the team during busy service periods, making this an ideal role for a chef looking to progress their career.

The Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading the kitchen team during service and contribute to maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Support in menu creation and development with a focus on seasonality and innovation, utilising your strong cooking skills and passion for gastro pub dining and modern Irish cuisine.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and waste management, ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP and all food safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for everyone.

The Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a quality-driven kitchen, with a strong track record of delivering excellent results.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required, with a commitment to providing outstanding service to our guests.
  • Must be living in Ireland and have the right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
