Job Title: Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in ENT. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of specialist speech and language therapy services for patients attending our ENT clinics. This will involve assessing, treating, and providing information on communication and swallowing abilities to individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice: Provide comprehensive specialist assessment, treatment, and information regarding communication and swallowing abilities of individuals, ensuring full client and family involvement.
  • Leadership: Manage and run the SLT led parallel clinic in ENT in conjunction with relevant ENT consultants and the SLT manager.
  • Service Development: Develop the skills required to provide a specialist innovative service and advance SLT practice in the area as appropriate.
  • Education and Training: Play an active role in departmental in-service training and provide education and training for other healthcare staff.
  • Administration: Adhere to local guidelines regarding confidentiality and data protection legislation and maintain accurate record-keeping systems.
Requirements
  • Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • 5 years full-time post-qualification clinical experience, with 4 years consecutive experience in the required area of specialism.
  • A proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism, including achievements in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism.
