Speech and Language Therapist Clinical Specialist

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive specialist assessment, treatment, and information regarding the communication and swallowing ability of individuals. This role requires a strong understanding of speech and language therapy principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to a team of Speech and Language Therapists in the provision of a specialist speech and language therapy service for patients attending the ENT and voice service.
  • Develop and implement innovative services to advance SLT practice in the area as appropriate.
  • Manage an outpatient caseload for patients requiring specific intervention in an acute care setting.
  • Take a lead role in demonstrating clinical effectiveness through the application of evidence-based practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered with the CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • 5 years full-time post-qualification clinical experience in the required area of specialism.
  • Proven record of clinical excellence in the specialism with achievements in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or relevant courses in Continuing Professional Development.
