Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned Water Resource Specialist to join our team in Ireland. As a key member of the environmental consultancy, you will be responsible for conducting hydrogeological assessments, managing groundwater resources, and supporting environmental impact studies.

About the Role:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into groundwater systems, including sampling and data analysis.
  • Develop and implement effective groundwater monitoring programs to ensure optimal resource management.
  • Evaluate the potential impacts of developments on groundwater sources.
  • Design and supervise the installation of monitoring wells to gather vital data.
  • Present technical reports and interpret hydrogeological data to inform decision-making.
  • Utilize specialized software to simulate groundwater flow and contaminant transport patterns.
  • Offer expert advice on groundwater management and remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct environmental impact assessments and risk analyses.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Carry out fieldwork while adhering to strict health and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Holds a degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Possesses significant professional experience in hydrogeology.
  • Able to operate hydrogeological software (e.g., MODFLOW, GMS) with proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas effectively.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In possession of a full driving license and willing to travel for fieldwork.
