We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team for a 9 month fixed term period in Cork City. This role will play a vital part in ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations, supporting a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the creation and operation of leasing subledgers.
  • Prepare annual financial statements.
  • Support the Financial Accountant with the preparation of monthly reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end accruals.
  • Prepare VAT returns for all Irish entities.
  • Support the wider Financial Accounting team as required.
  • Implement ad-hoc accounting procedures and other projects.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure business operations run smoothly.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within a similar accounts-based role.
  • A qualified Accounts Technician or similar qualification is essential.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral, is mandatory.
  • Possess very good command of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word skills.
  • Experience with an ERP system is an advantage.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
  • Able to identify improvements in processes and procedures.
  • Vigilance towards detail with a strong focus on accuracy is necessary.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-growing organisation with competing priorities.
