Job Description

The Paraeducator role involves supporting students in achieving their educational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.

The job requires assisting teachers in carrying out the educational program, developing and implementing safe and enriching experiences for all students, and planning, organizing, and delivering instruction based on the approved curriculum and Common Core State Standards.

Other key responsibilities include supporting students remotely and in person as needed, working cooperatively with all school staff and students, and maintaining confidentiality of student information.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Must be eligible for or hold a valid Title 1 Paraprofessional Permit;
  • Previous experience in a classroom setting preferred but not mandatory;
  • Ability to support students requiring help with physical positioning and self-care;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Job involves repetitive stooping, twisting, bending; standing, walking, and sitting;
  • Complete Level 1 training by June 1st of the contract school year as a condition of continued employment;
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Report; no entries on Child Abuse Registry;
