
Caregiver for Children with Disabilities

A Support Worker position is available to provide person-centered services to children with disabilities.
Job DescriptionThe role of Support Worker is to work as part of a dedicated and innovative team to provide planned short-term respite care, both day and night, where children will be grouped together by age and interest. The Support Worker will participate in planning, delivery, and evaluation of respite services in partnership with service users and families.
Lavanagh House Children's Respite Service provides services to children with disabilities in the Cork area in active partnership and in line with the needs and wishes of the child and family. Enable Ireland respite services are committed to working in partnership with service users and families in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of all services.
Required Skills and Qualifications- QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following: Healthcare Support; Social Care; Pre Nursing; Childcare
- 8 modules to include at least one module on special needs/disability studies/challenging behaviour or a commitment to complete one of these modules within 6 months of commencement
- Or a comparable SNA Qualification
- Or Year 1 of a relevant degree programme in Health and Social Care (e.g., Social Care, Child Care, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy)
