Job Description

Maintenance professionals play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of manufacturing facilities.

The position is responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks, including responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out proactive maintenance on assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs as necessary
  2. Carry out planned work assigned by management and proactive tasks that increase efficiency and reduce waste
  3. Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with the maintenance strategy
  4. Carry out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and electromechnical repairs to high-speed PLC-controlled plant
  5. Support Production Team in achieving targets and closely monitor line and machine performance
  6. Provide mentoring and coaching to shift technicians and cooperate fully in training and development
  7. Responsible for completion of planned work, inputting data into the CMMS system, and maintaining workshops to a high standard
  8. Ensure all relevant information is passed to both the maintenance manager/supervisor and the next shift
  9. Recording of all damage to equipment and reporting to department
  10. Control of contractors and acting as Liaison Person as and when required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A relevant trades qualification - electrician or fitter
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess mechanical and electrical maintenance experience and/or qualifications
  • Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health and Safety
  • Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance and experienced in fault finding and problem solving
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC control systems
  • Knowledge and experience in maintenance organisation and systems
  • Good PC skills required to input data onto CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)
