Job Description

We are seeking a talented Senior Android Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining software to ensure that software programs work as intended.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in native Android development using Kotlin and Java, with expertise in developing, testing and debugging mobile applications. Experience with emerging Android development trends and design patterns is also desirable.

You will be working in a highly collaborative environment with a team of engineers who share your passion for innovation and excellence. We value teamwork, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership.

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of performant solutions that continue to scale to the increasing demands of the business. You will lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions, and strive to develop simple solutions to complex problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • BS Engineering or SW Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required. MS Engineering is desired.
  • 5+ years of native Android development experience using Kotlin and Java or Flutter.
  • Expert knowledge of developing, testing and debugging mobile applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack libraries including Compose and building responsive interfaces.
  • Familiarity with emerging Android development trends and design patterns.
  • Experience in the Mobile app SDK implementation, Push notifications (FCM), Security and release process.
  • Knowledge in developing white label apps considering modularity is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of responsive and adaptive native mobile UI development techniques.
  • Integration of the App with RestAPI or MQTT/Grpc or any Cloud resources like AWS.
  • Strong understanding of integrating the apps with Analytics – Firebase, Google or Adobe.
  • Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification, CI/CD and various testing approaches.
  • Strong technical knowledge building mission critical/highly available mobile applications.
  • Strong ability to identify and fix performance bottlenecks and deliver code that meets best in class target performance.
  • Pragmatic approach to weighing engineering tradeoffs versus business needs.
  • Persistent sense of curiosity to understand why something is and needs to be.
  • Accountability and a sense of extreme ownership that doesn't end after the system is deployed to production.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies - often very quickly.
