About This Role:

As a Process Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing safety, health, and environmental compliance across our generating stations.

This position ensures the safe operation of both active and under-construction facilities while supporting regulatory obligations and internal standards.

You will lead compliance with all health and safety legislative requirements, manage SSE's SHE Management System, oversee statutory compliance, and conduct audits, risk assessments, and safety investigations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead compliance with all health and safety legislative requirements
  • Manage and implement SSE's SHE Management System (15 elements)
  • Oversee and report on statutory compliance, liaising with regulatory bodies
  • Conduct and lead audits, risk assessments, and safety investigations
  • Support the Environmental Co-ordinator and contribute to emergency response planning

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree-level qualification in Health & Safety Management or a related discipline
  • Experience in a senior Health & Safety role, preferably in industrial or high-risk sectors
  • Understanding of power generation operations and maintenance is an advantage but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
