Health and Safety Specialist Needed

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Carlow. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on medium to large-scale building projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to site-based personnel and others, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Accurately report accidents, incidents, and near misses, assisting with investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Evaluate and implement effective health and safety procedures, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Support the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment that drives excellence in health and safety practices.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Health and Safety or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or civil engineering sector in Ireland or the UK.
  • Demonstrated expertise in health and safety legislation, with the ability to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and developments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, from site personnel to senior management.
