The Cork University Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical services, including emergency medicine. With its nationally designated pre-hospital support and fully equipped rapid response car, the hospital offers telemedicine advice for advanced paramedics.

Cork University Hospital is Ireland's largest statutory hospital and the only Model 4 hospital, integrating all acute surgical and medical specialties on one campus. It provides adults, paediatrics, maternity, and mental health services.

The CUH Emergency Department operates adult, paediatric, resuscitation, ambulatory, and observational medicine streams. Its goal is to be one of Ireland's best hospitals, serving as a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for HSE South and offering supra-regional services across southern Ireland.

The hospital hosts a cystic fibrosis centre and is one of eight NCCP Cancer Centres, providing complete tumour pathways and treatments. It also includes three hospitals: Cork University Hospital Wilton, Mallow General Hospital, and Bantry General Hospital.
