Disaster Recovery Specialist

Our organization requires a skilled and experienced Disaster Recovery Specialist to ensure the resilience of our critical IT services.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in guaranteeing that our IT systems remain available and secure, even in the face of unexpected disruptions. This involves planning, testing, and continuously improving enterprise-level Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity frameworks in partnership with internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities across all IT systems and services.
  • Collaborate with business owners, IT teams, and third-party vendors to develop, test, and improve DR and BCM plans.
  • Ensure Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Risk Impact Assessments (RIA), and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Plan and coordinate regular DR testing exercises, including data centre failover and cloud platform recovery.
  • Ensure DR and BCM processes align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for staff on DR and BCM responsibilities.
  • Assist in responding to major incidents, ensuring business services are restored quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor evolving risks and technology trends to recommend improvements to resilience measures.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a dedicated Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of overall experience in IT or IT risk-related functions.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-level DR testing.
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managed service providers.
