Disaster Recovery Lead

A unique opportunity to shape and lead the Disaster Recovery function from the ground up, designing and implementing enterprise-wide DR strategy and capabilities.

The Role
  • Lead the design and delivery of the organisation's Disaster Recovery strategy.
  • Define and manage DR frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute enterprise-scale DR testing (e.g., data centre failover, cloud recovery).
  • Partner with IT, risk, and operational leaders to ensure resilience for critical systems.
  • Engage and manage third-party vendors in delivering DR solutions and tests.
  • Report on readiness, risks, and improvement plans to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the subject matter expert during major incidents requiring recovery activation.
Requirements and Expectations
  • Proven track record (2+ years) in a specialised Disaster Recovery role.
  • 5+ years' experience in IT roles with strong technical knowledge.
  • Practical experience of enterprise DR testing (data centre failover, recovery planning, cloud failover).
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with security and risk frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead strategy, build processes, and influence senior decision makers.
