Job Overview

This is a full-time maintenance supervisor position in a hotel environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the hotel's maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations.

Maintenance activities will include identifying and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner, collaborating with outside contractors to complete tasks, and overseeing the planning and implementation of maintenance projects.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.

A minimum of 1 year of experience at Maintenance Assistant level is required for this position, with trade qualification/experience being highly advantageous. Strong people skills, prioritization abilities, and high standards are also essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Activities:
  • Rectify maintenance issues within the hotel on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with outside contractors to ensure all maintenance issues are rectified.
  • Ensure an efficient planned preventive maintenance system is in place for all key equipment.
  • Operations Management:
  • Attend and take the necessary action required from items arising at daily/operation meetings.
  • Carry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure guest safety by eliminating potential risks and hazards.
  • Ensure fire detection systems are checked and recorded weekly.
  • Ensure fire doors, emergency lighting, and bell tests are carried out weekly and recorded.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience at Maintenance Assistant level required.
  • Trade qualification/experience (e.g., electrical/plumbing) is strongly advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and standards-focused.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent people skills.
