We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Expert to join our team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient and strategic procurement service that delivers best-in-class quality and value for money. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing market analysis and inventory profiling to determine stock requirements for forecasting and reordering
  • Maintaining optimum stock levels to ensure continuity of supply to customers while also being mindful of working capital targets
  • Managing slow-moving stock and expiry dates
  • Creating and issuing purchase orders to suppliers, both inventory and non-inventory
  • Negotiating best possible prices with suppliers where pre-determined pricing agreements do not apply
  • Identifying potential procurement cost savings
  • Monitoring and updating purchase orders with latest supplier information
  • Regularly reporting and analyzing data to support operational performance measurement and improvement of logistics processes
  • Completing periodic reviews of stock levels and forecasted stock requirements based on the ever-changing needs of the business
  • Proactively identifying and addressing potential issues with supply of inventory
  • Liaising with key stakeholders and managing vendor FSN, Recalls, and product complaints
  • Managing vendor returns for product repairs (steris)
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Two years' experience in a customer service or procurement role, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • A third-level qualification, although not essential, would be advantageous
  • A self-motivated individual with a 'can-do' approach, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-based approach
  • Professional and effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
  • Resourcefulness to deliver a high-quality service
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Strong IT/computing skills, including data retrieval, analysis, and management reporting, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, ERP, and MRP
  • Strong analytical capabilities
