Job Overview

The Principal Structural Design Engineer position involves leading large-scale building projects, managing teams of engineers and technicians, and delivering high-quality designs that meet client expectations.

Roughly 10-15 years of experience in structural/civil engineering are required for this role. The ideal candidate will have honours degree qualifications, strong interpersonal skills, good commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

About This Role
  • Lead multiple engineers and technicians on various building projects.
  • Develop and implement robust building designs using expertise in Eurocodes, BIM software, and other industry tools.
  • Mentor junior staff members in design aspects and safety considerations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Contribute to company growth by participating in business development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Honours degree in structural/civil engineering (Level 8 NFQ).
  • 10-15 years' experience in relevant roles, including management and leadership positions.
  • Chartered status with a professional body.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
