Occupational Therapist Role Summary
This Senior Occupational Therapist opportunity is an exciting chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals in need.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in community settings and be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Manage a diverse caseload of adults with varying mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify functional needs and inform personalized care plans
- Design and deliver tailored interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop recovery-focused care plans that cater to each individual's unique needs
- Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care services, community supports, and family members
- Supervise and support junior occupational therapists or students as needed
- Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation in line with professional standards
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, including protocol development, audits, and outcome measurement
- Promote mental health awareness and advocate for occupational therapy within the wider community
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU)
- CORU registration is essential
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health settings
- Experience delivering occupational therapy in community settings
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing a diverse caseload
- Full driver's licence and access to own transport
