Occupational Therapist Role Summary

This Senior Occupational Therapist opportunity is an exciting chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals in need.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in community settings and be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

  • Manage a diverse caseload of adults with varying mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify functional needs and inform personalized care plans
  • Design and deliver tailored interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop recovery-focused care plans that cater to each individual's unique needs
  • Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care services, community supports, and family members
  • Supervise and support junior occupational therapists or students as needed
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation in line with professional standards
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives, including protocol development, audits, and outcome measurement
  • Promote mental health awareness and advocate for occupational therapy within the wider community

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU)
  • CORU registration is essential
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health settings
  • Experience delivering occupational therapy in community settings
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing a diverse caseload
  • Full driver's licence and access to own transport
