Job Title: Facilities Technician

A leading aviation maintenance specialist in north Dublin is seeking a skilled technician to join their team. The organisation specialises in areas such as engineering and testing, airframe, engine, safety slides and rafts, industrial gas and turbines, and tooling.

As a Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting aircraft for mechanical problems or damage, repairing and replacing aircraft parts, testing and troubleshooting aircraft systems, and refuelling and servicing aircraft with necessary fluids and oils.

The successful candidate will have a trade qualification, or a mechanical engineering diploma/degree in an engineering discipline, and experience working previously in a maintenance position, working day to day on various types of heavy machinery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting aircraft for mechanical problems or damage
  • Repairing and replacing aircraft parts, such as engines, bearings, and landing gear
  • Testing and troubleshooting aircraft systems to ensure proper working conditions
  • Refuelling and servicing aircraft with necessary fluids and oils
  • Running regular diagnostic tests on aircraft
  • Responding to reported mechanical issues
  • Ordering and replacing malfunctioning parts on planes
  • Cleaning and maintaining the engines
  • Reporting any serious issues to management
