Senior Bridge Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced bridge engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. As a senior bridge engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of our bridge projects.

  • Participate in early project stages, including scoping, specifying, and interpreting surveys, inspection, and investigative works, optioneering, and scheme design.
  • Undertake detailed design work, including modelling, calculations, and overseeing drawing production.
  • Prepare documents, including technical reports, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Undertake independent design checking and provide construction stage support.
  • Interface with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and design & build contractors amongst others.
Essential Requirements:
  • Hold or will shortly achieve the title of Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years' relevant professional bridges design experience in the civil or structural engineering client, consultancy, or construction sector.
  • Flexible, motivated, and focused.
  • Good technical knowledge and engineering understanding of bridges.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in written and in-person interaction with external parties.
  • Good knowledge of structural analysis software including finite element analysis.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in the use of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and other standards and legislation in the field of bridge/structural design including Eurocodes.
  • Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tight deadlines.
  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English.
