Bridge Engineer Job Opportunity

Roughan & O'Donovan is seeking a highly skilled bridge engineer to join their team in Dublin or Cork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in bridge design and possess excellent technical knowledge and engineering understanding.

This is a permanent position within a leading civil, structural, and environmental engineering consultancy. The company offers a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave, contributory pension, and training opportunities tailored to the individual's needs.

About the Role
  • Work on various bridge projects, including superstructure, substructure, and articulation elements
  • Participate in early project stages, including scoping, specifying, and interpreting surveys, inspections, and investigative works
  • Undertake detailed design work, including modelling, calculations, and overseeing drawing production
  • Prepare documents, including technical reports, specifications, and contract documents
  • Interface with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and design & build contractors
Essential Requirements
  • Candidate must hold or be nearing completion of CEng with Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE, or equivalent
  • Minimum three years' relevant professional bridges design experience in the civil or structural engineering client, consultancy, or construction sector
  • Flexible, motivated, and focused
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good technical knowledge and engineering understanding of bridges
