Job Title: Consultant in Emergency Medicine

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team within the public healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical leadership in the delivery of high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population.
  • Lead and supervise the Emergency Department (ED) clinical team including registrars, SHOs, nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Ensure timely, patient-centered care in compliance with HSE and hospital policies.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audit activities, and risk management strategies.
  • Take part in on-call duties and rota management as per departmental needs.
  • Provide teaching, training, and mentoring for junior doctors, medical students, and ED staff.
Requirements:
  • Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
  • Eligible for appointment as per the HSE Consultant Contract 2023 (Type B or C, depending on site).
  • A minimum of 7 years postgraduate experience, including significant time spent in Emergency Medicine.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and team management skills.
