We are seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to oversee the safe design, checking, installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary works in accordance with BS 5975:2019 and relevant Irish regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of temporary works on site, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the safe design, checking, installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary works in accordance with BS 5975:2019 and relevant Irish regulations, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Construction Regulations 2013.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact between site teams, designers, and temporary works checkers, ensuring safe and compliant execution.
  3. Maintain and manage the temporary works register, ensuring accurate records for inspection and auditing.
  4. Carry out site inspections to confirm works are in line with approved designs and risk assessments.
  5. Deliver temporary works briefings and toolbox talks to ensure all personnel are informed, competent, and aware of their responsibilities.
  6. Identify, record, and address any non-compliance or safety issues immediately in line with the company's safety management system.
  7. Provide expert guidance on safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements relating to temporary works.
  8. Support and liaise with the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) and Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) where required.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in a Temporary Works Coordinator role in construction or civil engineering projects in Ireland.
  2. Strong working knowledge of BS 5975 and relevant Irish health and safety legislation, particularly the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  3. Technical knowledge of construction principles, problem solving & temporary works design.
  4. Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to promoting a strong safety culture on site.
  6. Engineering or health and safety background desirable.
