Job Role

The role of Lead Engineer involves directing daily operations to ensure the Data Center is operated and maintained safely, within Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and with minimal risk.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Manage all activities of the Technical Operations Site Team to deliver reactive and planned maintenance tasks to agreed timelines and SLAs/KPIs with full utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and permit systems.
  • Coordinate incident management, maintaining and issuing incident reports using CMMS systems.
  • Oversee the initial supervision of Specialist Service Contractors, conducting inductions, approving minor works listed on service report sheets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review operating procedures to ensure readiness for general and emergency situations.
  • Conduct testing and address non-compliance issues within required timelines.
  • Monitor SLA compliance and communicate effectively with client representatives.
  • Provide support to Data Center and Site Management teams, including communication assistance, technical information provision, and holiday/sickness coverage coordination.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years' experience working in mission-critical mechanical and electrical environments within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred.
  • Experience in data centers or similar environments is essential.
  • Knowledge of key infrastructure components of DCs (like UPS's, Generators, and Cooling systems).
  • Recognized formal electrical training (City and Guilds etc.).
  • Electrical Qualification recognized in Ireland as QQI Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate (Electrical).
  • AP15 course and experience as an HV Authorized Person.
  • Ability to read and preferably work with Electrical and Mechanical diagrams.
