Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Cork. This role reports directly to the Capital Project Manager and involves an 18-month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage capital engineering projects within the site, following a structured Project Lifecycle approach.
  • Support Operations Engineering Team in maintaining process equipment uptime and optimizing operational efficiencies.
  • Improve operations and reliability of equipment and processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal/external personnel and contract providers for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Lead equipment commissioning and validation activities as part of capital project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver site capital project portfolio.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and budget management for assigned capital projects.
  • Support major site initiatives and core goals.
  • Prepare Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCE) for site capital projects.
  • Liaise with Global Engineering as required.
  • Manage on-site engineering contractor safety and working practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong previous pharmaceutical experience is essential (minimum 7-10 years).
  • Knowledgeable/competent with executing change control.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements relating to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Site experience of cleanroom processing/utilities, HVAC, CIP systems, etc.
